When a key employee is unable to work following an accident or illness, it is not only the employee and family who suffer. The disruption for his or her employer can be significant - and expensive. Business Health is a group personal accident policy which provides a lump sum, or weekly benefit, following the accidental injury of an insured employee. Payments are made directly to the employer and can be used to pay for overtime or to employ temporary staff during the period of absence. Alternatively the cover can be used as a valuable employee benefit and the payments be given directly to the injured employee. Because cover is bought for a group of employees, it is possible to have a high level of cover at a relatively low cost per person. Benefits fall into two categories
